I love the sport so much – I always have! My dream is to have a career that involves soccer, by playing competitively for as long as I can, and studying kinesiology or sports medicine. Since picking up the position of goalkeeper almost 5 years ago I made the decision that I was going to start to follow my dream of becoming a professional player. I realized that in order to be an elite athlete I have to be committed, dedicated and very determined.
In addition to my club training, I train with Ian Feuer, former Premier League goalkeeper, MLS goalkeeper and former LA Galaxy goalkeeping coach. I need to keep learning and to always try to improve my level of skill. This meant that I had to change clubs to keep progressing to a higher level of competition. I want to be the most competitive goalkeeper that I can be. My personality really helps because I am very focused, disciplined, and calm under pressure. Being a goalkeeper really requires that of me, and has helped me in other areas of my life.
I really enjoy being part of a team and understand that it is not just about me as an individual, but about all of us on the team. Every time I step on the field, I have a responsibility to my teammates , my coaches and myself to be the best goalkeeper I can be. Really, at the end of the day, I know that my behavior, attitude, and work ethic reflect my team, my school, and myself.”
